Eu macar stiu ce si cum m-a influentat... -bautura: cred ca eram beat cand m-am hotarat sa cant la chitara si nu la bass; -bautura: cand se termina, plecam toti de la repetitii, fara ea nu se poate; -bautura: toate riff-urile proprii bune au fost compuse dupa consumul unei cantitati ce ar fi bagat in coma o turma de elefanti. Un procent mare din cei "influentati" habar n-au ce sa scrie. Faptu ca ai ascultat un chitarist nu inseamna ca te-a si influentat neaparat. In mod ironic, pe mine toti cei care i-am ascultat m-au influentat(pt ca se presupune ca ascult ceva ce ma AJUTA in cantatul la chitara) Chorusy tone May style, vibrato malmsteen, viteza si corectitudine in panatie si digitatie, Batio; atacul si freshnessul, viteza, Impellitteri; Hank Marvin, tremolo use , Dick Dale, tremolo picking in surf,Uli Jon Roth acel vibrato unic de vioara cu half bends la care daca nu esti atent suna fals, etc... Cred ca fiecare preluam intr-un mod sau altul ceva. In mod categoric Vai nu m-a influentat cu nimic, poate the gay use of the tremolo arm si sucky digital tone scos din analog si ca sa-l citez pe Zappa ,,Electric Ham Sandwich'' tone. Fara sa vreau sa par faux-intelectual, am observat ca uneori, artistul in sine, prin dorinta sa de a experimenta, de a-si extinde cunostintele si a-si analiza stilul si obiceiurile, devine la fel de influent asupra modului sau de a crea precum idolii sai. De exemplu, prima oara cand am folosit clape/orchestratii pe o melodie, nu m-am gandit la Nightwish sau la Pink Floyd, ci pur si simplu simteam nevoia sa extind piesa, sa o fac mai grandioasa, astfel schimbandu-mi fundamental stilul de a compune muzica de atunci pana in ziua de azi.
