Frequencies - the music of league of legends

Music and games share an intertwined history stretching back to neon-soaked arcades and dusty living rooms crowded with tangles of twisting plastic controller cords. From chiptune scores to the sweeping symphonies of expansive fantasy worlds, the relationship shared between games and music simultaneously elevates both art forms. Frequencies is a behind-the-scenes look at that harmony at Riot; the moment when creativity, collaboration, and passion collide to forge and reinforce story through music.

B-Movie. Lust & Sound in West-Berlin. 1979-1989

Music, art and chaos in the wild West-Berlin of the 1980’s:

the walled-in city became the creative melting pot for sub- and pop-culture. Before the iron curtain fell, everything and anything seemed possible. B-MOVIE is a fast-paced collage of mostly unreleased film and TV footage from a frenzied but creative decade, starting with punk and ending with the Love Parade, in a city where the days are short and the nights are endless. Where it was not about long-term success, but about living for the moment – the here and now.

La Berlinală:

B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin

There is Blixa Bargeld, skinny as a rake, getting people drunk in the bar ‘Risiko’, and an earnest-looking Nick Cave collecting ‘German Gothic’ on a wall of his room in a Berlin flat. Cool Gudrun Gut stands outside ‘Dschungel’ counting the number of clubs you can go to at two in the morning, and ‘Tödliche Doris’ sings at a most inhospitable Potsdamer Platz. And somewhere in between the Wall and firewalls, the old buildings and the new, Mania D and Westbam, is Mark Reeder from Manchester. Drawn by his love of off-the-wall urban electronic music this British musician, label-maker and military fetishist came to Berlin at the end of seventies, where apparently – and fortunately! – everything he experienced was filmed.

With its copious images and audio material compiled by Jörg A. Hoppe, Klaus Maeck and Heiko Lange, B-Movie: Lust and Sound in West-Berlin is a documentary and a declaration of love rolled into one. A warm-yet-wrecked reencounter with themselves for all those who were a part of it. And downright mind-expanding for all those who have arrived since and claim to know where Berlin’s bear got down, or even dare assert that things only began to swing in 1990.

JUNUN

In Spring 2015 Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and The Rajasthan Express were hosted by the Maharaja of Jodhpur at Mehrangarh Fort. This beautiful and joyously unique 3 week union resulted in the album and film JUNUN (madness of love).

Produced by Metallica’s Robert Trujillo in association with Passion Pictures, the film includes some incredible insights from an array of artists (Flea, Joni Mitchell, Sting, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Geddy Lee, Bootsy Collins, Carlos Santana) as well as Jaco’s family, and friends. It unveils the story of his music, his life, his demise, and ultimately the fragility of great artistic genius.

We Are the Best! is a story of three young misfit girls growing up in the early ‘80s Stockholm. Pixieish, mohawk-sporting Klara and her best friend Bobo are 13-year-old rebels looking for a cause. Despite having no instruments—or discernible musical talent—the two put all their energy into forming an all-girl punk band, recruiting their shy, classical guitar-playing schoolmate Hedwig as a third wheel. With tender affection for its young characters, We Are the Best! paints a joyous and sharply observant portrait of the rebellious spirit of youth and growing up different.
