DraculVaDomni Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Draconian Is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in 1994 that creates songs of atmospheric, melodic, and emotive characteristics. Biography In May 1994, drummer and vocalist Johan Ericson, bassist and vocalist Jesper Stolpe and guitarist Andy Hindenäs assembled the band Kerberos, initially playing death metal with black metal influences. Seven months later, lead vocalist and lyricist Anders Jacobsson joined the band, and its name changed to Draconian. Their first demo — Shades of a Lost Moon — was recorded on October, 1995, a week subsequent to their first live concert. The demo counted with flautist and vocalist Jessica Eriksson, keyboardist and vocalist Susanne Arvidsson and with a special participation of Andreas Haag on the introductory section of "My Nemesis". The album was released on February of 1996. The band was then joined by guitarist Magnus Bergström. No recording contract was obtained with Shades of a Lost Moon, so in early 1997 the band proceeded to record their second demo, entitled In Glorious Victory. The band, however, became discontented with the quality of the recording and discontinued the release. In the following months, two members of Draconian had to complete their military service, slowing down the progress of the band. Their rehearsals, however, continued to some degree. Susanne Arvidsson left the band due to personal reasons and was replaced by Andreas Karlsson. Both in 1998 and 1999, the band made concerts. After receiving positive reactions, they decided to enter studio once more. In August 1999, Draconian recorded Closed Eye of Paradise, an album dealing mostly with the theme of Lucifer and his fallen angels. Susanne Arvidsson made guest vocal appearances on this release. The album was, however, badly produced, and the band decided to spend time polishing it before a release was attempted. Between May and June 2000, Andreas Karlsson, Anders Jacobsson, and Johan Ericson worked on the recorded material, improving the mix of the instruments and correcting effects. The demo was then released. Draconian's style had by then become slower and darker, and reflecting this, the 2-track promotional Frozen Features was released on CD format and over the internet. Guitarist Andy Hindenäs left the band and was replaced by drummer Johan Ericson; drums were then left to Jerry Torstensson, who joined the band. Concurrent with these line-up changes, the band's demo was receiving positive feedback from critics of the gothic metal scene. A final demo entitled Dark Oceans We Cry was recorded in 2002, being followed by a contract with label Napalm Records. The debut album Where Lovers Mourn was recorded under the supervision of Chris Silver (ex-Sundown and Cemetary) in July 2003 and was released three months later. Most of the songs were re-recordings of their earlier compositions. A support tour followed. Draconian's next release was the concept album Arcane Rain Fell, from 2005, which features a new version of their 15-minute long epic "Death, Come Near Me", and also counts with Ryan Henry (from Necare) as a guest. They released The Burning Halo in 2006 after several delays. In September 2007, Draconian began recording their fourth album, Turning Season Within at the Fascination Street Studios in Örebro with producers Jens Bogren and David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia). Originally the name Cadaverous Smell was used and the band played grindcore / noise style. When Harry Busse joined the band they renamed themselves to "Minas Morgul". In 1987 the band settled on Morgoth when singer and bass-player Marc Grewe joined the band. The name was derived from the epithet of the original dark lord Melkor in J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-earth Legendarium. They recorded the Pits of Utumno demo on four tracks in 1988, which eventually led to the band being signed with Century Media, which had just started. In 1989, Morgoth recorded their second demo Resurrection Absurd in a twenty-four-track studio, which was released by Century Media in the same year as an EP. The band then toured Germany in support of Pestilence and Autopsy. The Eternal Fall was recorded shortly after the tour finished, which was quickly followed by a second tour with Demolition Hammer and Obituary. Grewe stopped playing bass and Sebastian Swart joined as the bass player. In February 1991, the first actual full-length album was recorded in the Woodhouse studios, titled Cursed. To promote the album the band supported Kreator and Biohazard on a US tour and another European tour with Immolation and Massacre. Most of the band then relocated to Dortmund. Morgoth took a break then and only to return in 1993 with the album Odium. More touring followed, with Tankard, Unleashed and Tiamat. Nevertheless most of the band members started to lose interest in an active music career and ventured in other directions. Eventually a third album was recorded, Feel Sorry for the Fanatic, on which they incorporated more and more industrial influences. A tour followed the release of the album, with Die Krupps and Richthofen. The band broke up in 1998. Today they are deemed as one of the most influential bands to the German old school death metal scene. DraculVaDomni Posted January 18, 2009 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Mezarkabul/Pentagram (Pentagram in Turkey) is a Turkish heavy metal/power metal band formed by Murat İlkan (vocals), Hakan Utangaç, Metin Türkcan, Tarkan Gözübüyük, and Cenk Ünnü. Pentagram is known for integrating Anatolian elements into their music. Mezarkabul was formed in Istanbul in 1986 by guitarist Hakan Utangaç and drummer Cenk Ünnü. By 1987, bassist Tarkan Gözübüyük had joined and they started doing live shows. Their first songs were released in 1990 on the self-titled Pentagram album. In 1992, a second guitarist Demir Demirkan joined the band, as well as a new lead singer, Bartu Toptas, helping Hakan to concentrate on his guitar duties. Several gigs were played with the new line-up until Bartu decided to move back to Sweden. He left the band in march 1992 just when the band had started to record the "Trail Blazer" album. The voice in the beginning of "Secret missile" belongs to Bartu who left the band during the recordings. Substituting Bartu vocalist Ogün Sanlısoy was added to the line-up. They released their second album Trail Blazer in the same year and enjoyed a rapidly-growing fanbase - both in Turkey and worldwide. In 1993 guitarist Ümit Yılbar was killed by terrorists on the mountain of Cıraf while serving the Turkish Army. They made the tribute song Fly Forever in memory of Ümit Yılbar and the band also dealt with this issue in subsequent songs as "1,000 in the Eastland" and "Anatolia" (both from the album "Anatolia"). For the next three years, the band toured in their homeland and over the world. In 1995, vocalist Murat İlkan replaced Ogün, and they started working on their next album, Anatolia. Anatolia was released in Turkey in 1997, and several weeks after the release, Century Media approached Pentagram for a worldwide release. The lyrics of Anatolia mainly deal with issues of war, pain and ignorance, often in an unusual way. In "1,000 in the Eastland" it is stressed that "thousands of people are dying in the East, all ignored by the West, where one death becomes a tragedy", at the same time emphasising that "fighting with hatred feeds the rich men". They released a live album in 1998 called Popçular Dıºarı (literally "Pop Lovers Out"). Guitarist Demir Demirkan departed, and was temporarily replaced with Onur "Mr. Cat" Pamukçu. The band started recording their next album in 2000 in their own studio in Istanbul. Guitarist Metin Türkcan officially joined the band during the recording session. They composed 17 songs, and decided to split it up into two different CDs. In 2001, Unspoken was released worldwide. In 2002, Bir ("One") was exclusively released in Turkey. For their releases in Turkey, they use the name Pentagram. However, due to an American doom metal band called Pentagram, they go by the name Mezarkabul (literally "Acceptance To Grave") for international releases. They got a new concert DVD album by Sony music called 1987 in 2008 including their 20th anniversary concert in Bostancı Gösteri Merkezi on 4th February 2007. Panzerchrist recorded a few demos and was signed by Serious entertainment. Six Seconds Kill was released by Serious Entertainment in 1996, and in 1998 they released Outpost Fort Europa. In 2000 Panzerchrist was joined by drummer Reno Kiilerich (ex-Exmortem, Vile, etc.) and Bo Summer (also of Illdisposed) to record Soul Collector, notorious for its WWII theme and German lyrics. Soul Collector was released by Mighty Music in 2000. In 2002 the band was joined by Frederik O'Carroll and Rasmus Henriksen and begin work on the ultra violent Room Service, which featured compositions even more brutal and fast, including a cover of the Metal Church classic "Metal Church." Room Service was recorded at Tue Madsen's "Antfarm Studios" (The Haunted, Illdisposed, Mnemic etc.) and was released by Mighty Music in 2003. In 2006 Panzerchrist drummer Kiilerich and Karina Bundgaard, now on keyboards, rejoined for the recording of Battalion Beast which was released by Neurotic Records in 2006. In spring 2008 Panzerchrist vocalist Bo Summer was replaced by a vocalist known only as "Johnny". In addition, Panzerchrist, which had previously been a studio-only band, plans to appear live. They describe themselves as "American Deathphonic Black metal"[2], but predominantly play symphonic black metal with prominent use of keyboards and some death metal influences. To date, their most notable live performance has been with folk metal band Finntroll.[3] But they have had more notable performances opening for 1349 in September 2008, and then opening for Watain in October. Ceremonial Castings formed in the summer of 1996, by vocalist/guitarist Jake Superchi (going under the pseudonym "Lord Serpent") and keyboardist Nick Superchi (under the name "Old Nick"). from Battle Ground, Washington. Lord Serpent's other band, Crimson Death, had quickly ended, giving him time to focus on Ceremonial Castings. Their first demo was a four-track tape from 1996, with another released in 2001, two more in 2003 and another in 2004. It took until 2004 to find a live drummer in the form of Matthew Mattern (alias "Bloodhammer"). 2005 saw the release of their first full-length, Immortal Black Art, released through Dark Forest Productions, with their second release Barbaric is the Beast released the following year on June 6th. Beginning in mid-2007, Ceremonial Castings began the writing of their latest offering, Salem 1692, which is based on the trials and executions of accused witches in Salem, Ma in the year of 1692. Even more so to its authenticity, Lord Serpent and Old Nick are in fact descendants of the late Judge John Hathorne, who was one of the judges during the trials. This album was released May 9th, 2008. Both Lord Serpent and Old Nick are involved in musical projects ranging from death metal, to black metal, to ambient. Tokyo’s hi-rise renegades Soil & “Pimp” have long billed their local sessions as Death Jazz in the hope of alienating Japan’s polite, noodling, straight ahead jazz cogescenti along with those DJs and clubbers who favour all things “jazzy”. E clar ca growl nu e, din moment ce tocmai ti l-am aratat pe solistu de la Psycroptic vomitandu-si matele in microfon. Death metalu daca nu ma insel se apropie mai mult de jazz ca previzibilitate a liniei melodice decat de orice alt gen. Mie mintea imi da atunci cand ascult Wintersun senzatia ca fiecare nota este continuarea naturala a celei din urma. O asemenea coincidenta intre muzica reala si muzica imaginata de minte nu poate fi pusa decat pe seama faptului ca Wintersun canta un gen care exploateaza posibilitatile melodioase ale metalului, iar acest gen nu poate fi death metal. Iar felul in care ai descris tu vocalul lui Jari ("Scream-uri de King Diamond, growluri foarte clare, complexe, lucrate..") nu este un produs al gustului tau. Faptul ca un growl este clar, complex sau lucrat sau faptul ca un scream seamana cu al lui King Diamond nu au tangenta cu faptul ca iti place sau nu respectivul vocal. Coordonatele prin care tu ai descris stilul vocal al lui Jari tin de domeniul obiectivului. Vocalul lui, care este un hibrid banal de clean si non-clean a la Avr...aaa...Alexi Laiho nu se apropie nici macar putin de pitigaiala efeminata a lui King Diamond sau de un monster growl adevarat. Si cine negul de pe nas al lui Hristos a spus ca growlul trebuie sa fie clar? Pe cine intereseaza versuri de genul: "I'm following the mistress of night Through the gates of snow we'll fly We'll fly" WTF?!?!?!?!?! Muzica potenteaza versurile, niciodata invers. N-am inteles faza cu porcu cu cutitu, dar in mare am inteles ce vrei sa sugerezi. Pai asa trebuie sa si fie vocalul de death metalul, ca un porc. Death metalu fara vocale de porc e ca puta fara vin. pwnzar Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Fa comparatie intre vocalele de la Boltthrower, Necrophagist, Cannible Corpse (care desi nu imi plac...), Amon Amarth, si ce guitzaturile alea de porc (care din cate stiu eu asa se si cheama - pigsqueals)... Daca King Diamond ti se pare o muiere, eu nu mai zic nimic... Iar comparatia intre Wintersun si Bodom nu-si are locul. Guest szekely Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Eu in ultimul timp am capatat un mare interes pt muzica clasica baroca si romatica.. am coborat toata discografia lui mozart , pt cei interesati ii sfatuiesc sa caute pe youtube melodiile requiem : introitus , lacrimosa , confrutatis, die israe, kyrie. si simfonia nr 25 si 40 care sigur o auzit toata lumea de ea si 41 si sonata nr 11 pt pian care or puso in nemumerate reclame si concerte de vioara nenumarate excellente etc ,,, asr trebuii sa incercati si voi e fantastic si eduard grieg care o scris hall of mountain king care aparae in nemumarate desene animate, js bach,,,si io .. beethoveen simfonmia 5 7 si 9 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cum poti sa pui "Hall of the Mountain King" inaintea "Peer Gynt" ? Si pe norvegian in chema Edvard Grieg. Recviem si Dies Irae sunt acelasi lucru. In muzica clasica nu exista "discografii". ----------------------------------------------------- Also, in muzica clasica, sunt mai importanti dirijorii si solistii decat compozitorii in sine.
