Stiu ca parerile sunt impartite cu privire la acest remake dar eu simteam nevoia unui 'The Wall' la o calitate audio/video care sa corespunda cerintelor prezentului. Daca am inteles bine a fost filmat in 4K si mixat in Dolby Atmos.

Roger Waters on Reinventing ‘The Wall’ and Plans for a Final Arena Show

Roger Waters keeps returning to “The Wall,” the 1979 concept album he wrote when he was the leader of Pink Floyd. But he is not simply looking back.

The album’s latest incarnation is “Roger Waters The Wall,” a film that will be shown just once, on Tuesday, in theaters worldwide: about 500 in the United States and 2,200 abroad. Further theatrical showings are uncertain, although a DVD is in the works.

“Roger Waters The Wall” juxtaposes Mr. Waters’s stadium-scale theatricality with private moments. It’s primarily a documentary of the panoramic stage production of the album that toured worldwide from 2010-13. But the story of “The Wall” begins with a father’s death in World War II, and the stadium performance is interspersed with Mr. Waters’s making personal pilgrimages: his first visits to the beach at Anzio, Italy, where his father was killed in a World War II battle, and to the grave sites of his father and his grandfather, another casualty of war.

When Mr. Waters, now 72, wrote “The Wall” in the late 1970s, it was the extended complaint of a “miserable rock star,” he said. “Over the years, my perspective changed.” He gave a leisurely interview in his Manhattan living room: a light-filled, white-walled, high-ceilinged place with abstract and Pop Art on the walls, including a series of Andy Warhol’s multicolored Mao Zedong silk-screens.

Roger Waters Talks Tuesday’s One-Night-Only Film Event, 'Roger Waters The Wall'

Clad in a black T-shirt and jeans, Waters talked to a small group of journalists and film industry guests at an early screening in Manhattan on Monday. After kicking things off by reading a poem about his father’s legacy, Waters took questions, some moderated by Huffington Post TV anchor Alyona Minkovski, about politics, rock music and how the two combined can create real change.

Roger Waters Announces 'The Wall' Live Soundtrack Album

Now that Roger Waters has released his new concert film of The Wall, filmed on the former Pink Floyd singer-songwriter's recent world tour, he is putting out an accompanying soundtrack album. Between 2010 and 2013, the singer performed the 1979 double-album, home to "Comfortably Numb" and "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)," live more than 200 times. Like the film, the soundtrack, titled Roger Waters The Wall and due out on November 20th, contains recordings from around the world and will be available digitally and as either a two-CD or three-LP set.

Exclusive: Roger Waters Premieres a Track From His New Album

"My favorite scene is the one with me and the barman," Roger Waters, tells me. He's talking about a segment in a new film that follows his recent tour for which he played Pink Floyd classic The Wall in its entirety. "Just before we began shooting I said, 'Ok, you do not speak English, that's all you have to remember.' The guy playing the barman said, 'Alright.' I said, 'No, you don't speak English. 'Oui, d'accord.' 'Ok, good. I don't want to have to re shoot this crap.' I was drinking tequila through the whole thing and I think I drank four or five shots."

Not known for his sense of humor, Waters, 72, the creative driving force behind some of Pink Floyd's most enduring work—from the The Dark Side of the Moon to Wish You Were Here to The Wall— is disarmingly sharp when I meet him in the penthouse suite of a Manhattan high-rise to talk about his latest projects, including the film and live album versions of his recent The Wall tour, as well as his upcoming, as-yet-untitled solo album.
