The band has released six full-length albums and is currently signed to Metal Blade Records. Ancient used to have a raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with The Cainian Chronicle, they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, female vocals, and synthesizers to their music. With their final album, however, the band had begun to play a more modern thrash style of metal, very much akin to the band which formed in the wake of the demise of At the Gates, namely The Haunted. Ebony Tears has since disbanded subsequent to the release of their final album, Evil as Hell in 2001. The album was also released on the Century Media Records label. All members went on to join Dog Faced Gods. Anumite cantece sunt cantate in maiera Yngwie Malmstenn dar tipul are stilul sau si este foarte bine definit. Pe albumele mai vechi puteti sa degustati power ballads excelente cu solouri superbe. Din categoria covers merita ascultat "When a blind man Cries" care e cantat cu foarte multa pasiune si "Forever Young" - Alpha Ville. History The band formed in 1989. In 1995, no more than three demos were released - Skinn Av Sverði Söl Valtiva, Læknishendr, and Ásynja. A total of seven demos have been recorded since the band's inception; however, only five of these demos are known about. With the exception of the Havamal demo (which is allegedly clean folk music), the band started out with a raw sound, with considerable black metal influence. Since then, Falkenbach has progressed into more of a matured, epic band. Most of Falkenbach’s lyrics were written in English, but some were written in Old Norse, Latin, and Old German. Most, if not all of the lyrics written in Old Norse are actually taken from heathen literature: for example, the chorus lines in the song "Donar’s Oak" are actually verses four and five in Grímnismál, part of the Edda (Grimnir’s Song). In 1995, recording of the debut album Fireblade began, but due to equipment troubles, the recording process was ceased shortly before mixing began. Fireblade was not released, and in December of the same year, recording for ...En Their Medh Riki Fara... started. The recording for the actual debut album was completed in March 1996. After Magni Blandinn Ok Megentiri was released, Vratyas Vrakyas ceased recording music so he could focus more upon his record label Skaldic Art Productions. In 2003, Vratyas Vrakyas returned to the studio with three other musicians and close friends of Vratyas to record Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty. The next and most recent Falkenbach album was recorded in August-September 2005, using the same session musicians he had used for Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty. In 2006 Skaldic Arts Productions released a tribute album called "An Hommage to Falkenbach". It consisted of two parts, each limited to 500 units. The work contains 16 covers by diverse bands such as Eluveitie, Vinterriket, Hildr Valkyrie and more. It is one of the first thrash metal bands born in Italy, along with Schizo and Bulldozer. They take inspiration from Slayer, Possessed, Kreator, Celtic Frost and Bathory. The band is also renowned for its great live performances, and notably for their mighty "wall of sound". The band was formed in 1984 under the name Ghostrider by Claudio (guitars) and Peso (drums) who, right after having seen Venom in concert decided that they wanted to be metal artists as well. Along with Ingo (vocals) and Paolo (bass) they released as a first recording a 4-track demo titled "The Shining Pentagram" with Slayer, Kreator and Bathory influences, which gained them an important following throughout the underground metal scene. Both first albums Into the Macabre (1987) and Fragments of Insanity (1989) were acclaimed by metal press and fanzines and allowed Necrodeath to have a cult following that is still present to this day. The band disbanded soon after the recording of the second album. Historical members Claudio and Peso reformed the band in 1998 after a long break. Ingo was replaced by Flegias on vocals, while John became the new bass player. Four albums have been recorded since then, which, arguably, have not had as much of a significant impact on the metal scene as their early work, but their popularity seems not to decade. Necrodeath released the album Draculea on October 22, 2007. The album is based on Vlad Tepes. They are one of the longest-standing bands from the original Gothenburg metal scene and one of the pioneers of the melodic death metal genre, along with In Flames and At the Gates. Dark Tranquillity was formed in 1989, under the name Septic Broiler as a thrash metal band. Since its formation the band has had a fairly stable line-up. In 1990, the band recorded a demo cassette tape entitled Enfeebled Earth before they would change their name to Dark Tranquillity and change their musical style. It was followed by two more demos: Trail of Life Decayed (1991) and A Moonclad Reflection (1992) (both were later remastered and re-released in 2004). In 1993, Skydancer was released, and Anders Fridén, Dark Tranquillity's original lead vocalist, left the band and later joined In Flames.[1] Mikael Stanne, who formerly played rhythm guitar and provided backing vocals, then became the lead vocalist, and Fredrik Johansson was recruited to take over rhythm guitar duties. In 1995, Dark Tranquillity released The Gallery, considered a landmark in melodic death metal, which saw the band tightening their production details to a great extent, and showed that the new line-up was a essential change that furthered the band as a whole. In 1997, The Mind's I was released, which saw a slight change in sound. Before the release of the band's 1999 album, Projector, Fredrik Johansson was asked to leave Dark Tranquillity due to his lack of devotion to the band.[1] Martin Henriksson then switched from playing bass to guitar to replace Johansson, and the band added Michael Nicklasson on bass and Martin Brändström on keyboards and electronics. At this point the band also signed to Century Media Records. Until 2008, the band had remained stable in its line-up and its musical style; blending layers of rapid guitar lines with harmony-rich electronic keyboard washes and extremely precise rhythms underneath Stanne's abstract growled lyrics. In 1999, Projector (later nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award) became the 4th output from the band, and saw a change in songwriting. While retaining growled vocals and their signature death metal sound, pianos, baritone soft vocals, and verse-chorus fashion song structures were now intregal parts of Dark Tranquillity's sound. Year 2000 saw the release of Haven which saw the addition of slight electric keyboard sounds, but also abandoned most all of the clean vocals in favor of a slightly heavier sound. In 2003, Dark Tranquillity released Damage Done, and was intended to be a step in a heavier direction, adding a thicker guitar distortion, deep atmospheric keyboards, and abandoning soft vocals altogether. Character was the 7th release from Dark Tranquillity, released in 2005, and was held in much critical praise. It featured the first music video released by Dark Tranquillity to feature the band itself, with the single Lost To Apathy. 2007 saw Fiction, which in turn, saw a return of Mikeal Stanne's clean vocals, and the first female guest vocalist since Projector. Dark Tranquillity have recently toured with The Haunted, Into Eternity, and Scar Symmetry for the North America Metal For The Masses tour.[3] They returned to the U.S. during the Spring of 2008 with Arch Enemy. They have also toured the UK in early 2008 along with Omnium Gatherum. They are preparing for a live dvd to be released sometime in 2008. Bass guitarist Michael Nicklasson left the band in August 2008 due to personal reasons with no hard feelings between him and the band. This was announced on August 23 on the band's official homepage. On September 19th, the band found a new bassist, Daniel Antonsson, who was the bassist in the band Soilwork in the past.
