Guest Posted September 23, 2014 Share Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions, when David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason played freely together at Britannia Row and Astoria studios. This was the first time they had done so since the ‘Wish You Were Here’ sessions in the seventies. Those sessions resulted in The Division Bell, the band’s last studio album.In 2013 David Gilmour and Nick Mason revisited the music from those sessions and decided that the tracks should be made available as part of the Pink Floyd repertoire. It would be the last time the three of them would be heard together. The band have spent the last year recording and upgrading the music,using the advantages of modern studio technology to create The Endless River.The Endless River is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards are at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. sam Posted October 5, 2014 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Tu ti l-ai comandat, tu carcotesti Am comandat un CD audio (ceea ce sunt sigur ca nu voi regreta niciodata) insa carcotesc pe parte vizuala, nu amesteca oalele Si asta pentru ca Pink Floyd a excelat de-a lungul timpului si in imagini. Si nu e carcoteala cat mirare... Cine a vazut The Wall (filmul) a vazut probabil animatii mult mai bine realizate in '82 decat teaser-ul din 2014 (in ciuda evolutiei tehnologice). Dar poate imi scapa mie ceva... Sau poate o fac ei in felul lor si e prea devreme sa ne dam cu parerea. Oricum, eu am incredere si-l astept ca si cand... sam Posted October 12, 2014 Share Posted October 12, 2014 Poate sunt eu mai atasat sentimental sau mai emotional (probabil si datorita faptului ca e trupa mea favorita) dar oamenii astia chiar nu trebuie sa moara... M-a intristat groaznic filmuletul de mai sus. @sam: Care este coperta ta preferată? Nu stiu sa raspund la intrebarea asta. Poate 'The Dark Side of the Moon', poate 'The Division Bell', poate 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason', poate 'Delicate Sound of Thunder'. Piese preferate: 'Anisina' si 'It's What We Do'. Dupa 'Anisina' cel putin sunt lesinat, am ascultat-o cred de 50 ori pana acum. N-am inteles insa ce-i cu piesa 'Nervana', e din cu totul alt film si nici nu e stilul lor. Suna mai mult a... Daca vor mai scoate 10 'albume' cu resturi, le voi cumpara pe toate, constient ca vor fi doar resturi. Chiar ii iubesc pe oamenii astia si orice inregistrare scoasa din sertar e OK din punctul meu de verede Si tot din punctul meu de vedere, ce-au avut de dovedit au dovedit pana acum. Ca mi-aduc aminte ce priviri uimite mi-am atras cind au scos The Wall si am dat cu el de pamint. Eu vroiam un alt Dark Side sau un alt Animals sau macar un Meddle si m-am trezit cu o "antirazboinica", lumea era extaziata, io mofluz. Intre timp mi-a trecut. Asta e o chestie despre stampila primariei si coada vacii. Endless River nu are nici o legatura cu The Wall decat reactia dvs. pe care o considerati similara cu cea a celor care au indraznit sa spuna ca imparatul e gol. Probabil asa se intampla cand dai publicului ceva prea intim. In sensul ca publicul nu poate fi invinovatit ca nu are amintiri legate de inregistrarile respective. Nu prea inteleg ideea. Ar trebui sa cumpar un produs chiar si cand nu mai respecta standardele impuse in trecut de compania producatoare doar pentru ca am amintiri legate de compania respectiva? Logica mi se pare defectuoasa. Astept sa imi povesteasca cei mai mari fani Pink Floyd despre ce e vorba pe Endless River. Banuiesc ca e despre un rau nesfarsit pe care mergi cu barca printre nori. Cam ai dreptate, asa mi s-a parut The Wall. Intre timp am vazut si Earl's Court si cam toate alea despre ei si ce au facut/gindit/simtit si mi se pare ca The Wall sta prin el insusi. Acum stim de ce The Wall e asa de Waters, ca acceptam asta sau nu. Dupa gustul meu si Waters-ul de la Bucuresti a fost un must see fie si intr-una dintre zilele cind Snowy White cinta prost...). Ca Endless River va ramine sau nu, asta se va vedea in timp. In ce ma priveste fie si daca ramine ca un cintec de lebada asa cum pare-a fi cazul, va ramine, chiar daca e un album de leftovers. dani_rosu5 Posted November 29, 2014 Share Posted November 29, 2014 Raspopitu se referea la faptul ca pentru noi Richard Wright nu a insemnat mai nimic (sentimental) ,in schimb pt Gilmour & Co a fost ca un frate,albumul acesta fiind un fel de omagiu pt Rick - e ceva mai intim decat the wall sau alte albume,un fel de capsula a timpului L-am ascultat si eu si nu pot zice ca e un album rau,doar ca nu prea are inovatia,sau acea "lovitura" cu care ne uimeau PF pana acum. Imi pare putin rau ca vocea lui Gilmour nu apare pe mai multe piese,dar banuiesc ca nu a facut asta pentru a nu devia de la intentia lor ... se potriveste bine in incheierea povestii trupei. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
