Guest Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 For nearly 250 years, the Mexican town of Paracho has been known for its high-quality, hand-made acoustic guitars. But it is a tradition under threat from drug violence and an influx of cheaper instruments. Streams of tourist used to fill the town's streets. Now those streets are often empty, as visitors shun the violence associated with drug trafficking. Experts say with global and social forces coming down heavily on the residents of the town, many stand to lose that part of their identity. http://english.aljazeera.net/video/americas/2011/06/2011619171513644215.html
George Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Si apoi, A gunslinger is embroiled in a war with a local drug runner. And then, an unnamed man (Steve Buscemi) walks into a bar. The customers are initially hostile towards him but he seems not to notice. He begins to tell how he was in a bar in another town and it was cleaned out by a man in black looking for a man named Bucho. This story openly frightens the men as well as the bartender (Cheech Marin) and his side kick Tavo (Tito Larriva), attempt to get a description of the man's face. Buscemi claims to not know and remarks that he believes the man is headed that way.
