in which a clock beats

that the hours 
seem

to advance

It's all fantasy waiting

an immense space to fill
in which any thought 
becomes 
a detailed 
scene

while yesterday 
and tomorrow 
perch on my shoulders
like two beautiful birds 
hungry for my time

I was waiting without waiting
leaving and entering 
not leaving or entering
in that universe with no doors
where I walked from my seat 
holding on to my bag

until a voice calls my name
