Hongsong chinese pine arrived.
It's a lot whiter/yellower than i thought.
It rings well, it's gonna make a good top. The smell is very strong, still can't tell if the padauk+sinker cedar is actually hongsong...
Anyway, no knots, straight, quartersawn, what more can you ask for.
But today i also made some (surely) cedar (supposedly canadian) into an archtop blank. It's sooooo light and aromatic. Very nice straight cut too. Gonna get a nanmu back so i get the lightest 18incher ever.

Break angle and neck angle a bit too much, on the other archtops it was a bit too low. Getting there...

This is kinda unusual too, ei rosewood flatback w carved archtop parlor sized...
I think i solved the mystery of this top. it is hongsong - pinus koraiensis.
I got a guy to cut some hongsong for an archtop and leftover for 2 acoustics and I will confirm it is, but pretty sure for now

Pomelon?!
Granadillo fretboards are back. Got a few. Best wood for fingerboards. Stable like padauk, hard like ebony but without the fussiness of ebony.
Flatback archtop will be ready for the recurve by tomorrow.
Stained the sides with violin stain.

Adica rebranduitori? De fapt, sunt niste fabrici care produc ce vor sau ce li se cere, si astia cumpara si-si pun brandurile pe ele.
Daca ai ceva comanda ferma de 500 de chitare, nu ma pricep la negoț, dar as putea sa incerc sa iti dau niste contacte.

In alta ordine, din ce am mai citit, am inteles ca in timp din cauza uzurii apare asazisul efect de "sitar". A avut careva de-aface?
Haidi, bre, in 10-20 de ani daca o canti matale atat de mult, ii dai o pila in jos spre capatul corzii si nu mai zice nimic. Sau smirghel sub coarda trick ca la nut, de fapt necesar acest trick in opinia mea si la bridge saddle.
Pana atunci, just buy the something and make a guitar...

Mai nu tin la eticheta ca o fac pt. mine si nu vand :). Mai mult calitatea m-ar fi interesat! Probabil sunt diferente la calitatea bronzului, poate si planeitatea placii ... nah nu stiu ...
E diferenta in materiale. Mare. Nu am incercat gotoh dar am avut fender si graphtech si asta facut pe cnc. Dar comparate cu inca 4-5 chinezarii se vede si in finish diferenta. Practic, chinezariile merg foarte bine, dar suruburile spre ex sunt de alta calitate. Also baza resoneaza altfel.
dar doar pt faptul ca ai compensatie si șanțurile deja facute e ceva. Sunt si bridgeuri china la fel dar pt 10 euro mai putin... Nu se merita practic.

Merita. Mai aled ca nu te scoti cu mult, dar valoarea chitarii va fi alta cand ai gotoh in loc de (weird chinese brand that makes no sense in English)

Exista saddles cu compensatie calculata. Vezi graphtech.
Daca nu te interesează resale value poti sa faci tu o compensatie uitandu-te la un bridge normal. Cu o pila, mai ales pe bronz merge repede. Apoi șmirghel de la 400-3000
